The following text(s) are copies from e-mails to me by a dude called Thomas O'Leary.

He claims to have a 45. with Mötley Crüe doing the songs:

Toast of the Town, Stick to your Guns, On with the Show and Public Enemy#1 with O'Dean on vocals.

Take a look at these mail and make up your own mind...

His mails are in white, Paul and Nikki Sixx's take on things in blue my mails in yellow and my thoughts on this in red.

Subject: TFFL Single...O'Dean vocals

OK Listen,

I was inmy cousins house about 4 days ago as she was getting ready to move back to Canada.Shehad about 7 boxes ofold 80's pop music, asshe loved it then, andused to live a mile fromthe strip in the late seventies and early 80's.Whenrooting through her boxes I found a TFFL single on Leathur, without the dots over the U,and a guitar witha mike (sp?) cord wrapped around iton the cover. The back says Coffman and Coffman productions with a songlist. This is what Nikki is talking about in the dirt.I believe the quote goes"Sous and O'Dean when in the studio to pump out our first single."O'Dean is the fat fuck with white gloves Mick hated.I listened to thetrack list which goes 1.)Toast of the Town 2.)Stick to your Guns 3.) On with the Show 4.) Public Enemy.Toast of the Town and Public Enemy sound COMPLETELY DIFFERENT thanthey do with Vince.O'Dean doesn't have a high pitched like Vince, its more similar to Mott the Hoople, like Nikki says.I made about 10 copies and will sell them to THE HARDCORE CRUE TRADERS.For I don't wanna read my daily mail before my job training and see nothing but crue requests. Also because they way I trade I will only do with the ones who trade often.I copied both front and back and encased them with the CD-R which is simply a unscaved CD-R(with songs)I am starting the bid at $35 a pop,but if you want to I can get it at $50.Just e-mail me if you'reinterested. Some fellow crueheads will be receiving a similar e-mail.

Hi dude,

As you might know I have never seen or heard of this, so chances are that its a boot... There is a lot of boots out there claming to be one thing but being another. I want to belive this is the real thing, cauz Im dying to hear it ;)

Would it be possible to see a scan of the original cover? Both front and back?

Thanx for thinking of me as a "trade that trades often"...

Congratulations on your find... Let me know
/Nikki

Now of cause I was all fire about this news, but something struck me as very wrong!

Crue wasnt signed to Coffman and Coffman until their 2nd show at The Whiskey, and we all KNOW that was with Vince on vocals.

So I mailed the dude asking for a scan of the cover.

But as with anything rare and unheard off, I had to check with ppl who knows their shit, so I mailed Paul.

Here is my mail to him and his reply to me:

Hi Paul,

I got an email last night and thought I would run it by you, as there it sounds too good to be true.

The email:

I think its a rip off due to the fact that the Crue didnt get signed to C and C until their 2nd show at the Whiskey with Vince on vocals. I think he/she may have used a PC to alter the sound or something...

What do you think. I really want it to be true, but with a truly rare and uniqe item as this (if its real) I think every stone should be turner over.

What do you think?

Pauls reply:

It seems all wrong to me... too many things don´t line up at all.

I´d ask for a sample of the audio and a scan of the cover with phone cord.

Seems like bullshit to me man.

Rock on,

Hi Thomas,

I have checked around witf a few of my Crue friends and we all agree that this is NOT the real deal. Crue wanst even on C and C until after theri 2nd show at the Starwood with Vince on vocals. But as always with "rare and unheard" things like this, we must check it...

I mailed you a few days ago about a scan of the cover, and I would also like a sound sample if possible.

I will post the mails here on the Motley Crue SHOUT board, that way it will be great for business for you if its real or it will warn traders not to buy it if its fake.

That only sounds fair to me, but please let me know what you think.

Regards,

/Nikki from www.crue.esenet.dk

HA HA! Its the real deal.It fucks me up how different those songs sound. And I put the list and C and C on there myself. The actual back of it says MOTLEY CRUE in the old tilted logo in grayish whitish. Now your requests....

I will try to get a scan,I am working as security at a St.Louis Job Corps so I will have to get into paperworks trade and try to make a scan. The sample, sorry to say is impossible.I have no MP3 player,I have no Kazaa membership, and a quick boot in the mail is not worth my time. All I have is a CD burner, and some headphones.I made the copies from record at a friends house, and (not to be a dick) would take too much time to go to his house and make an e-mailable audio file. Now I know you're updatign crueheads.which is cool, and my mailbox only has the 4 or 5 peopel I e-mailed on this. But I don't want a flood of requests.I will be done with this job in a few months, and I can make a mass production for the Cruebees after that.If someone doesn't do it already.Anyway, you can wait for the scan, but no promises.Theres no reason do dick anyone over I make $14 an hour so if you want to get on this ...write back whenever.See ya.

At this time I made a post on the Motley Crue SHOUT board about this guy and the 45. he was selling. The post got a lot of attention, even from Nikki Sixx himself. This is what he had to say abou it:

Hi Thomas,

Good to hear from you again...

So you made the cover yourself? The one for the CD?

The cover with the guitar with the cord on?

I am looking very much forward to a scan of that cover.

I have heard from Nikki Sixx and he says that there is NO recordings with O´Dean on vocals.

So I hope you see why I am very curious about this. How much info does the 45. or cover have?

Again a scan or a photo of the cover or lable would do wonders ;)

My guess is that you dont want to trade any stuff for a copy of it?

If you do, then please check out my Crue site at www.crue.esenet.dk

I have not given you mail addy to ppl, so no need to worry about getting your inbox full of Crue stuff ;)

Well hello Nikki,

Good to hear from you too.I am glad you are spreading the word of the 'lost album' as my old Harley friend calls it around SHOUT.As I don't think you know Sixx that well I will ignore that you said ..he said.. that the album does not exist. If it didn't exist than why do I have a copy of it,and why does it say...quote"We scammed our way into the studio and recorded some of Nikki's songs" in The Dirt as stated by Tommy Lee.I don't think Tommy was sure of himself at the time, cause my setlist is different that he lists,He states Tonight and Nobody Knows was on there, but from another part of the book and from many other Crueheads, they all said Vince introduced Tonight to the Crue setlist.Reguardless Nobody isn't on this, and ....them, being them...made more than 4 songs on their 1000 record release.....of what I call, the FIRST self titled Motley.

Let's look at the facts,...when Nikki was in LONDON(the band) he wrote On with the Show, when Crue first met they wrote Live Wire,(does not apply)Nobody knows was written by Nikki and Tommy as I've heard, but was released on this acclaimed record,or as Tommy thinks. The also had Public Enemy on paper....who knows when that was written,Toast of the Town and Stick to your Guns was written by Nikki in some speed induced garage recruitee span of his life.Thats 5 songs with I am sure Black Widow as well written before Vince came to bat,and when they made the 1000 records in 81',I am willing to bet they put more than 4 songs of the same on that release.I have the (or one of) the original copies right here, and after a few more beer sessions on Friday in Paesanos,I will decide rather or not to sell it on eBay.Its your perrogative to buy it or not.I could use all the dough I can now.I got a kid on the way.But I have exactly one dozen cd's made, and one I listen to often.I understand your concerns, and appreciate your time.I would also like to thank you for spreading this to the SHOUT boards.I have checked out your website, and I am interested in a few,but really cash is needed.I did like Tattoo Jam,I may even trade for that,if you buy one copy and trade for another.I could wait and have at least 10 copies sold before I sell any, because I know they will be mass produced and sold without my profit, and the original will be there soon enough.Anyway, write back, and thanks again.I will be online probably tommorrow.See ya.

Hi Thomas,

I didnt say I know Nikki Sixx personally, just that he responed to my question about this recording, this os what he said:

SIXX

-----------------------------------------

I know there were recordings with that O'Dean dude, and thats why I keep mailing you, otherwise it wouldnt matter to me. I just need to be sure that it IS O'Dean singing, cauz there have been a lot of fake ass records (like the fake Toast Of The Town/Stick 45.) and the fake Girls Girls Girls demos... So I hope you know why Im so curious ;)

The one you have... Its a 45. right? and you have made 10 CD copies of it, right?

You are willing to sell the CD copies, but what about the 45. itself? If Im going to buy anything from you it would be the 45.

I would like to buy the original 45. if possible, but before doing so, I would like to trade for a CD copy of it, to check it out.

You do not need to worry about me copying the CD and re-selling/trading it, thats not my style. You will have my word as a trader/collector that the CD will be in my private collection and NOT listet on my trade site untill you mail me telling me you have sold you 10 CD copies. Then and ONLY then will I list it. I have a hell of a rep amont traders and I dont want to ruin it by not being true to my word.

I check my mail a couple of times everyday... ;)

Have a good one dude...

Listen,

You,I,and Tommy Lee from The Dirt, know there are recordings.I can't really scan it,as I am a residential security guard at the St.Louis Job Corps. They have a scanner in the academics building, but I cannot use it as I am not government staff.I know you won't rip me off,and from what I got from the SHOUT threads, you guys don't really trust me thinking I will rip you off.But that is not the case.I would not go out of my way, wait an hour and a half for computer usage (from STLJC employees) to get $30....or $90 from you and a few others who want a copy.As far as the original goes, its a classic.I don't think I would let that go through the mail,it would be an eBay bid.If you're that curious,I would say $400 starting. But it isn't up for grabs at this point. The cd's I do have, which is really only the dozen I have, are for sale because I not a 'bootlegger' nor am I a 'random trader'I am a pretty big Crue fan,and when I saw this I knew it was rare.Thats whn I burned copies of it,and made it available to the hardcore public.I only scanned the boards, and saw that you and American Zero and 2 other traders had large trading sites, and would appreciate this rarity. And if I were to rip you off,I would be at a government facility, and the cops could have me in 4 hours,so your money is not at stake.I know what is,it's if it's the real deal. All I can say is Yes,it is the real deal, and to pass up the opportunity is up to you,but whoever does get it,will be the original through eBay,who I doubt will listen to it,let alone copy it.I understand that once you get this cd,cd(s),that you will probably tell your friends to order as well, and everyone will be happy. But to further explain that it is the original,is out of my grasp. If you like I can sell,if not, well nice meeting you.I will check my mail tommorrow, and you may be on,you may not.I will try to get a little while to have a quick 'me mail you you mail me convo'...but this all depends.Anyways,I have to head back to the pit.

                                              Thanks,

                                              Tommy

Hi again Thomas,

You want to list it at $400 on eBay, cool with me... But please mail me when you do as I would love to follow the auction. You better use pics in the auction and the matrix numbers (the numbers in the "dead wax"...) as well...

Ill just wait till I can trade my way to a CD copy of it, might take a week might take 3, but Ill get it in a trade a few days/weeks after you sold the first copy...

I thank you for your time in mailing me, putting up with my Qs and for thinking of me as a Crue Collector and Trader...

Kind regards,

Nikki Derbyshire aka Cocaine Cowboy at SHOUT.

Hi Nikki,

I do think of you as a big trader at SHOUT,and I do appreciate your opinion, and when the auction comes up....I will e-mail you,but don't tell me to put the wax number and the matrix numbers on there.Your not my fucking boss. And I know what it takes to make a trade or sale on eBay and the regulations to do so.I hope this doesn't affect our friendship.Anyway, this won't be on for a month or so,but you and AmericanZero will be the first to know.

                                              Your Welcome,

                                                   Tommy

----------------------------------------------------------

This is where I stop mailing him. He never got back to me on the eBay thing, but he did manage to FUCK a trader over, but that is a whole other story.

Dont get FUCKED over in trades, if you get a deal that sounds too good to be true, check around and ask all the questions in the world about the item, cauz if its real the seller (trader) wont mind answering.
